Our Ethos

We are proud of the community we are growing at Dart Hockey Club. We support each other, treat everyone with respect and kindness and above all make sure that everyone feels welcome. We enjoy spending time with each other off the pitch, making friendships that last a lifetime!

At our core we are a family club, with multiple generations of Dart Hockey Club members often playing together.

We are committed to the wellbeing and welfare of all members. With dedicated welfare officers for the men's, women's and juniors sections, you can be confident that you (and your children) will be cared for and safeguarded whilst a part of the Dart HC family.

All of our coaches and volunteers are fully DBS checked.

Dart Hockey Club is passionate about developing players, umpires and coaches as far as their aspirations go! From casual players looking to stay fit, to juniors wanting to improve their skills, we support players to grow at their own speed. Ollie Payne, England & Great Britain goalkeeper and Olympian, started his journey at Dart Hockey Club, so the sky really is the limit!

We are passionate about not just the development of hockey skills but also the development of character. Principles of fair play, respect, self-esteem and teamwork are core to the Dart Hockey Club ethos.

At Dart Hockey Club we love celebrating the achievements of our members. Whether it's scoring your first goal, our teams winning big games or our juniors shining, we will shout about all the great things that you do. We want to make sure that everyone's contributions are valued, including physically, socially, technically and intellectually.  

Good sportsmanship is key to our club ethos. Win, lose or draw, we always show our opponents and teammates respect and appreciation, ensuring that we are positive ambassadors for our club and our community whenever we take the pitch.

Above all else, we believe hockey should be fun! We of course all love to win games, but our priority is ensuring that playing for Dart Hockey Club is a fun and fulfilling experience, and that people want to keep coming back because of the great experiences they have had.
